Government Run Health Care

I was just at Kaiser the other day, picking up some RX from the pharmacy. There were 25 people in line waiting for their RX's. It occurred to me that this is the paradigm for the Government Health care System being proposed - Weeks to get an appointment; waiting hours when you get there for an appointment; Long lines for prescription drugs. Semi incompetent doctors; Your a number in the system.
The big differences would be in the management. Instead of having competent people (debatable) in a slumberous, muddled system, we will have incompetents running the system. Witness any government run entity.
I'm positive there are some competent people in government, but overrun by the non competent.
But Hey!...... We will have universal health care won't we? Think about it.
I am old enough to remember when doctors made house calls. Perhaps we should examine the medical profession itself.

WOOD Family Photo 1924-27

The fellow with the long beard in the middle, sitting, is my Grandfather Wood. He died when my father was small. That's my dad with the kids bottom right, second from the right. Taken somewhere in the Ozark Hills of Arkansas.

June 11, 2005 – June 11, 2007

To June, My Darling Wife:

As happy and in love as I was when this picture was taken, even more am I now.

Throughout our marriage, always have you shown me your extraordinary understanding kindness.

Never was there a time I can recall, when my loving touches you denied.

When even we disagree, we laugh at our own shortcomings and silliness, and work it out.

This I love about you.

For your sweet voice and tender eyes, I live. Happy as you have made me, I want to make you.

Many times I fall short, fulfilling my fervent desire to secure and wanted make you feel.

For lack of trying, it is not; my own love-weak and fumbling attempts only .

Secure and wanted you make me, always.

This I love about you.

These things, but not all; for too many, too subtle to articulate, they are.

So, as our journey together in life we continue , know this -

Every sinew and bone in my body,I love you with

My heart and soul all, yours.

Happy 2nd Anniversary

Musings:

Religion: It appears to me (through the informed discipline of 30 years of religious and philosophical study) all religious practices and philosophies have the same goal, albeit each has its own distinct path. Some are helpful to the individual and species; others seem not to be. There seems to be a missing element in most, and that is, the total knowledge of the ultimate truth of reality. Another element, not missing, is the unwavering, but false conviction, that each one has the only true belief. In fact, no-one knows the the ultimate reality of everything or the truth of everything - including me.

Iraq: I predict we, as a nation, will eventually soon leave Iraq to itself; having been unable to tame its peoples. If the the situation were reversed, and Iraq had sent its troops here, they would be equally unsuccessful in quelling our resistance to a foreign country upon US soil (even though well intentioned, as the US is in Iraq)
